...who really cares what athletes say about the importance of the game? The only time it should matter is if they had bet on the game(Damn you Pete!). Otherwise let......ugh.....Manny be Manny. The Sox need a solid performance from Beckett tonight and Schilling circa '01 to have any chance in this series.....I thought I might get tired of watching the Patriots kick the shit out of every team they play this year. Not happening. I have actually looked forward to seeing them try and put 40 on every team this year. I knew I heard a groan from the '72 Dolphins when the Pats finally got Tom Brady some big name receivers. I just didn't think it would be this fun......Once again I am opposing a Warrior run to the playoffs. After last years high there is no way that team can gel that way again. Unless BD stays healthy, Jackson steers clear of NRA events and Matt Barnes keeps his crazy MoHawk for an entire season. Biedrins is still a work in progress and I just hope he doesn't pan out to be a Pedro Feliz type project for Golden State.....Bravo to Joe Torre for turning down a contract offer from the Yankees. Every year it's the same thing with them. Torre gets them to the playoffs and they fail to meet the Boss' expectations. Finally Joe took the upper hand and told the Yankee brass to stuff their 5 million buck deal. Atta babe Joe. Go manage somewhere else in a few years and start another dynasty. Maybe the Cubs if Piniella doesn't get 'em past the 1st round next year. Joe gets to the playoffs with high payrolls........I remember going to the first Colorado Rockies game in San Francisco. June of 1993. My pops and I sat down the LF line and the Giants pummelled the Rockies 17-2. Highlights of the game were seeing Ding Dongs from Will Clark, Charlie Hayes, Robby Thompson(2) and a Granny from Bonds. The final was 17-2. Is'nt it ironic that it was a Colorado score @ Candlestick Park?
